Hosts Don and Brian talk about games and random shiznit
1. Late Arrivals by Developers!
Many Game Fans are upset about Sony’s announcement to delay shipping of Gran Turismo 5. Yes this game has been a long time in the making but there have been plenty other developers that have kept Game Fans waiting. Prime examples of this is the HUGE awaited 15 year Star Craft II by Blizzard. This has been one of the most await anticipated games even though it was a huge wait they still delivered. The same goes for Marvel Vs cialis jelly Capcom 3 by Capcom, Final Fantasy XIII by Square Enix, and Stargate Worlds by Cheyenne Mountain which was never even released. The point of this article is that Gran Turismo 5 fans shouldn’t bitch to much because there have been plenty of fans that have waited for other games. Just deal with it!!
2. Medal of Honor Review after last Tuesday’s release.
Medal of Honor holds up to the anticipation and hype but still doesn’t compare to the multiplayer and campaign mode of Modern Warfare 2. The Medal of Honor is more realistic and violent in nature compared to MW2.
3. Microsoft’s Huge Marketing Campaign for Christmas!
Microsoft is ramping up for a huge marketing blitz this Xmas to push the controller free Wii Killer launching on November 4th! Microsoft is reporting that they will be allotting a half-billion dollars towards a movie style campaign to promote the Kinect. These commercials have been directed by Steven Spielberg. Microsoft wants to make sure that they remain a major player in the video game console market due to failure to keep up in the smart phone and tablet wars. Microsoft have already struck promotional partnerships with Pepsi, Kellogg’s, Burger King, YouTube, ABC and Nickelodeon to mention a few. I really feel this is going to be Huge for the Xbox which keep them in running for the console wars.

7. Hideo Kojima’s different philosophy of Video Game Design
Fans are currently awaiting Hideo Kojima’s release of Metal Gear Solid: Rising but he has another project that his team is working on and will most likely be releasing prior to MGS: Rising. In the article provided by Siliconera, they discuss Kojima’s views on the difference between Japan and Western styles on developing and designing video games.
Kojima: “The differences between the creators in Japan and the West in this industry… Japanese creators try to express the game’s environment through beautiful artwork, but western developers use technology to draw out the environment. The Japanese make the models and textures carefully to create a world. The West use shaders, lighting, shadows, effects, and programming to create their world.”

8. 3D Gaming Guide
With 3D technology being reintroduced into the homes with new advancements from to the home theater experience continues the experience into the gaming arena. The current console platforms that support 3D Gaming is Playstation 3 and the XBox; unfortunately the Wii console is not currently supporting the 3D market even though Nintendo has released announcements about the 3D DS. PC Gamers of course have the biggest advantage over console’s when it comes to 3D Gaming due to the optimization options one can build on a computer. A gamer will need either a TV or monitor that supports 2D-3D, and 3D Glasses that is supported by the game console or PC Video Card.
